My locker doors opened the wrong way...
Thanks, Dad! The speeches about not half assing anything and giving everything 110 percent are still holding on strong.
Last week I finally had the opportunity and inspiration to create a paper illustration for PBN. I have been with the company almost 9 months now and haven't really been in a situation to step away from the computer. So to make sure I really had enough time I planned to work on it last Sunday. I worked 5 hours only to rip it up and start over the next day.
My time is precious. It really seems like every minute is scheduled out right now. Losing 5 hours on this didn't go over well. I thought about just saying, "Screw it! My lockers cater to all my left handed friends!" But I didn't. I really wanted to see this through for myself and I wanted it to be done right.
I did a quick design in InDesign and used that as my template for the lockers and the letters. It definitely helped speed things up and took some of the guess and check work away.
Going at it the second time was actually much faster. I repurposed some things and saved the brainpower/time I already used to figure out where everything was going to go.
Some of my favorite people (and dogs) in the world made it in via photoshop and actually held up on the press! You all really make me feel great about my work (not so much the dogs) and, more importantly, you don't sugar coat things. Everyone encouraged me to make it better and correct it. Thank you.
The finishing touches are always the most fun part. I love adding little Easter eggs into my work. Some of my favorite people and pups made it that much better.
You can see the finished page and the graphic that goes with it under "daily."
